“I was afraid of what I would find from the reviews which I didn’t see until after booking, but it wasn’t at all like what others said.

We arrived and were given a key that worked. The room was smallish but neat and clean. The bed was so comfortable, pillows were fluffy and the right kind of firm. There wasn’t much noise traffic and we stayed overnight for a Saturday, I didn’t hear anyone through the walls.

The elevator was a little bit sketchy, at one point it stopped on the second floor and the elevator itself was a few inches lower than the ground. It wouldn’t move and the door was only slightly ajar. I didn’t wait long to push the door and walk out because I wasn’t going to get stuck. We alerted the front desk and when we came back from our outing there weren’t any issues.

I think if you go with the right mindset you are fine, it’s a value price, excellent location and for what we received we were satisfied.”

“I was a little hesitant based on recent reviews but our experience at the hotel was great. It’s a cosy, adequately equipped hotel. For the price we paid considering other options in New York we were very happy.

New bathroom, new air conditioning (which we didn’t need to use), Comfortable bedding, microwave and fridge in the room. Very close to subway, shops, bars and restaurants.

Deposit for the hotel (which is common) was refunded and in my account within 24hrs.

I don’t understand the negative reviews found on the hotel, but glad that we snapped up a good deal for a Manhattan hotel. Everything was as described.”

– Room not really clean at all including stains on sheets, loud air/heat unit, TV didn’t work, one working elevator that is very slow, absolutely tiny room that looked bigger in the pictures (I know it’s NYC but I couldn’t even open my suitcase fully anywhere except on the bed)”
