“When my husband and I entered Kyoto’s Dusit Thani hotel, we were warmly greeted with a glass of their freshly made tea, for which they are known for . I was immediately drawn to the hotel’s beautiful minimalist design, which seamlessly blends traditional and modern elements with pops of nature, creating an indoor-outdoor feel in certain areas. Our room was clean and peaceful, equipped with nice robes and toiletries. We dined at their Japanese-Thai fusion restaurant, Kati, where the food was very good and artfully presented, with very fresh ingredients. We also enjoyed an incredible relaxation massage, followed by time in their indoor heated pool.The complimentary breakfast, served in a beautiful location, and had an array of choices including some traditional Thai yogurts that were delicious . The bar area near the entrance was inviting, and I had a matcha martini that was not only visually stunning but also very good. We stayed for two days, which provided the exact zen experience we needed between our visits to the busy cities of Tokyo and Osaka. The only downside was that the hotel was more beautiful than the nearby view, which had construction taking place. However, the hotel’s peaceful ambiance quickly made us forget about it, and this is a temporary situation for future travelers. There are some nearby restaurants within walking distance, but tourist attractions are generally 10 to 15 minutes away by car, which was fine as Kyoto wasn’t plagued by traffic.Overall, it was a beautiful hotel, and the staff made us feel special and were very helpful.”

“One of the best hotels in Kyoto.

Its slightly away from the city centre (around 2km) but near to Kyoto train station (around 600m). It is in a quiet neighbourhood so it is rather pleasant.

Hotel has an exceptional design. Rooms are clean amd spacious. Staff are very attentive and warm especially the house keeping crew.

“The Dusit Thani Kyoto is a truly elegant property with great staff to match. The rooms are large and well appointed with a central courtyard garden to add to the calmness.
Its a 15 min walk from Kyoto station in a quiet location and sits between 2 huge temples. I can recommend this hotel if you get a good rate as it is not cheap, but worth the cost if you can afford it.”

“We stayed at the Dusit Thani when we came to a Kyoto to celebrate my mother’s 80th birthday. The architecture and interior design is gorgeous. It is modern and full of ambiance. I loved that it was lit on the dimmer side but my mother thought it was too dark. We shared a room and it was great that the toilet was separate from the shower/sinks so no one really had to wait for the other. Staff was super friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was delicious. Location is about 2-3 blocks from Kyoto station, it is not on a busy street with many restaurants or shops which may be a pro for some and a con for others. Would highly recommend. “
