“The staff was very nice here, and in our experience incredibly honest. My daughter left a $125 watch behind and the room attendant gave it to us promptly. I value integrity in people and this gives us confidence in this property.
The B&B has a really nice downstairs seating area for outside relaxing or dining. Upstairs is a nice community living area, replete with reading material and a small area for children to play. Oh, and they have unlimited refills of freshly brewed coffee…this was a nice treat that I have not found at most other Baguio properties.
The rooms could use some renovating. The interior colors are not soothing to the eyes, and the bathrooms were probably the least appealing part of our stay. The tiles and walls should be repainted or at least thoroughly scrubbed.
All in all, it’s a pleasant place. The restaurant across the street , Casa Lasa, has some of the best food that I have enjoyed in Baguio and is super bright and clean with nice waitstaff.”
“The place provided me with everything I need for a comfortable one-night stay. It has comfy bed and pillows. There was hot and cold shower, and also a bidet. It’s a simple place that also has an area for breakfast. They don’t serve food during other meals but there’s a restaurant across the road. The staff were friendly and accommodated my questions about directions. For the location, I think I overlooked where it was exactly. I’m a walker and the place is walkable from downtown but the roads aren’t designed with space for pedestrians. It was kinda scary to walk downhill past curves while sharing the road with big vehicles. But overall, this simple b&b is not bad.”
“When I first saw this lodging in websites, I thought it would be somewhat of an old establishment with problems, but when I actually saw it in person and experienced the full service, I can say that my thoughts were wrong and has been positively surpassed.
From the first day of stay, the service has been topnotch, the staff were really nice and accommodating. One thing that really stood out is that they helped us in finding a dorm, they were really helpful from the first day until the last.
The rooms are also pretty nice, their beds were honestly the most comfiest out there, a person would want to sleep in rather than wake up early. Everything was clean and they even gave out free towels and toothbrushes.
The foods are also nice, everything we chose as breakfast was really delicious, although the choices are limited but I don’t think you’d get bored with them.
And if ever you want to go to the city or near the SLU area, transportation is available and SLU is only walking distance.
In overall, staying here in Old Orangewood was really great, we even considered and actually extended our stay here because the place is a really great place to stay at.
Thank you very much Old Orangewood for being the first lodging we had, we had the best experience here and would totally recommend this to our family and friends! “
“We had an unplanned trip to Baguio and booked the room last minute. Staff were really nice. Breakfast meals especially the daing na bangus and tinapa were the best. They don’t clean the room, unless you request for it.
The location is great. It is near the market, SM Baguio, and Burnham Park. You can even walk if you are fond of just walking around the center.
I just find it a bid noisy with wood floorings and staircases. There were signs saying 10pm to 7am is quiet time. However, during our first night, there were guests laughing very loud and you could hear it from your room. They were going up and down the staircase, which is annoying. And they would talk loudly at the lobby area. Since our room is at the ground floor, near the dining area, we would wake up to people preparing the table, talking, and eating during breakfast time.
Overall, our stay is good.”
“Love the staff, the kid’s play area, the breakfast was good, & there’s an
instagramable place to hang out at night with a fireplace (although it’s not being used). They’ve upgraded our room to 4 beds, and I really appreciate it, however, there was no aircon in the room we were at and during the day, it was hot. I also would not recommend this to people who hate hiking because it’s a bit far from the main road to commute going to anywhere. Me and my kids enjoyed walking, though, and we’ve discovered popular food places like Good Taste & Slaughterhouse. It’s near the terminal to Strawberry Fields by the way. No Grab Taxi by 9pm (I think or 10pm) so it’s difficult to get back to the place if you’d like to explore the night market. But overall, it’s a good place for the night with nice staff and a good breakfast to start your day. Will I book again? Not my first choice but would book it maybe not during the rainy season. “
