“overall uncomfortable. swimming pool is not clean. so dirty. blackout happened often. not working in air conditioning. there are also some rude staffs not trained. not recommended. “

“Having an amazing stay at the Holiday Inn Karon in Phuket as we’re still staying here. The location is perfect, right across from the beautiful Karon Beach. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with stunning ocean views. The pools and spa are top-notch, and the breakfast buffet is delicious with a great variety. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, making the stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommend for a relaxing and luxurious getaway”

“Nice layout of the hotel, 3 different pools, clean and nice rooms, service was helpful and informative, and location is good (right next to beach and markets). Bike/moped rental and parking was easy. Buffet breakfast selection was okay, slightly diverse yet a lot of processed meat. Service: staff promptly deep cleaned our room after I raised a possible flea/lice problem (bites all over my body). It was likely from outside and they confirmed no bed bugs. Service was overall super friendly and helpful (as possible).

Cons: They ran out of clean bath towels and took away our floor mats, and did not replace them – no shower curtain so the bathroom gets pretty wet. Gym seemed to be neglected: room smelled of old sweat(carpet flooring), poorly ventilated until I turned the AC on myself; weight machines were also broken, of the few. Treadmill was worn out and we both slipped on the belt. Towels were gone by 10am and staff did not replace. Toilet inside the gym smells a bit off, shared with urinal. Overall, the gym facilities need a serious upgrade.

Outdated ads for specials (eg. pizza buffet/AYCE) which they told us after we enquired about it. The hotel changed their name a week prior, without notifying us; so it was confusing when trying to organise logistics in advance.”

“I have two children under 10. One being a toddler. I chose this resort due to it being an IHG resort, the variety of pools shown on the website., and the bunk beds for kids.
The good: I liked that there was a pool specifically made for entertaining children and then two other pools comfortable for adults with a bar.
The adventure club for kids is nice when you need time out of the sun and the employees were great with the kids.
The outlets in the room work with our American style plugs.
They allowed us a later check out time as our departure flight was at night. They stored our bags after checkout so that we didn’t need to reserve the room an extra unneeded night.
Breakfast had an incredible variety to suit everyone. It was the same daily but such a nice variety to choose from.
There’s a Spa, fitness room, and restaurantall on location as with most resorts.
The not so good:
One of the pools had an odd film on the water. It wasn’t just a one day mishap. It was like that our entire stay.
The kids pool ladders are in need of repair.
The room, the spa, and the adventure club were all “surface clean” (meaning they look clean at a glance. Things are put away and appear tidy) but the clubhouse and spa smelled of mildew . Our room appeared clean as well and housekeeping came daily in the evening but our feet and socks were filthy from walking around in the room. We chose to wear slippers (which were provided in the closet) while in the room.
I researched a ton of places before booking. for the price, I wish we would’ve stayed somewhere else that had a regular pool and not listed as a “resort” but I chose this place as I thought it was advertised well as a kid friendly atmosphere. The wall that splits the shower and the room is see through. Understandable for a honeymoon sweet. But was uncomfortable for my husband to shower, as we have daughters that could see him through the wall. I was also showering one night when food was delivered to our room. So both workers could’ve easily seen me showering as they dropped off food.
Over all I likely wouldn’t stay here again. But I would recommend it for anyone with lower expectations and that would benefit from dropping their kids off in the kids club while they lay out by the pool. We didn’t utilize that option, but saw many parents who did. “

“We were a family of four, 2 children below the age of 8 booked family room with bunk bed for 5 nights . The lobby has no A/C or fans ! So don’t get to the hotel early .! The room we got the 1st day , on the 4th floor had damaged flooring , broken shower , bathroom room ceiling had leakage patch ! phone not working the whole room was extremely damp . Ceiling of the passage way outside the room had a continuous leak ! We woke the next morning with respiratory issues .. the A/C vents were so dirty ! they had a Think grey layer ! Got our room changed to 2nd floor . Much better and much more spacious and comfortable the difference was night and day ! The breakfast was average and exactly the same for all 5 days ! There was stagnant water pools around the property so we had mosquitoes biting through out breakfast time everyday !
The pools were Nicely designed but not Maintained . The slide pool was fun for kids but booth my kids got injured on it due to poor maintainance . The kids play area had nice staff but no A/C .
Overall good location , Karon beach across the road is beautiful ! But the hotel needs help !”
