“My partner and I really enjoyed our stay here. Our room was clean and well kept, despite some minor cosmetic issues (a crooked lamp, a single cracked tile in the bathroom). I have no problem with that sort of thing, I think it’s ridiculous to expect perfection (and also just not sustainable).

The bed was super duper comfy if you prefer your mattress on the fluffier side. We also loved the rainfall shower but we’re greatful there was also a handheld hose for accessibility.

The staff are helpful and sweet. There doesn’t seem to be daily housekeeping but that wasn’t a problem as we were only there a couple days and are more than capable of picking up the room ourselves.

I have seen some reviews mentioning the surrounding area was ‘sketchy”, I find that odd and think those reviewers might frankly wither be racist (as the majority of the people in the area where black) or just aren’t used to city living. My partner and I (both women) felt safe walking from the subway station at night and also around the block to grab food/coffee.

I will say the hotel doesn’t have many facilities options. Their vending machine was out of order when we were there and although it looked like they had a snack bar it didn’t seem to be operational.

If you’re looking for a relaxing stay outside of the hubub of Manhattan and also for much cheaper, I’d definitely recommend The Brooklyn. “
